BoConcept have recently moved into the Corn Exchange, one of Seaward’s commercial properties. Work is currently underway for the grand opening of the Danish furniture design company’s latest store in the heart of Chichester.
Founded in Denmark in 1952, BoConcept offers a wide range of high quality, contemporary design furniture for the whole home. The range includes sofas, chairs, tables, storage and beds. The store will also offer stylish lighting and accessories. To help customers find their perfect design solution there also will be experienced advisors available in-store.
The new BoConcept store will open on Saturday 26th August 2017 in this historic Grade II listed building in the heart of Chichester.
Built in East Street between 1832 and 1833, the Chichester Corn Exchange was one of the first to be constructed in England. The building was used by local farmers to meet dealers and merchants. The interior has been sympathetically refurbished and as a result retains some of the original features. This includes exposed beams stencilled with numbers for the individual stands. More recently the front part of the building housed one of three cinemas in Chichester before finally becoming a retail store.
There is an excellent article on the history of the Corn Exchange available to read here.
